Anni Katrin Elmer was born in Uster in 1980. Naturally gravitating towards a creative environment, she decides to become an artist at the age of 7, later applies for the photography course at the Zurich University of the arts and graduates four years later in visual design majoring photography.
She lives and works mainly in Zurich. Works on personal and editorial projects.

Her work evolves around the human being and its stories/history, often turning them into her own. The individual and its need for acceptance and security are often the essence of her imagery/visual world. Her work has been published in Photography, Made in Zurich, 2007 published by Verlag Scheidegger & Spiess AG, in Hopehope - magazine issue 1 - 7, in Identity Sucks!, 2010 World Identity Lab.
